APW EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
MINI GRANT
GUIDELINES
The Altmar Parish Williamstown
Educational Foundation is requesting proposals for school-related
projects for the 2011-2012 school year. A fund in the amount of
$2,500.00 has been made available to support several small projects.
Instructional or administrative personnel are encouraged to submit a
grant application. The application deadline is January 11, 2012. No
proposals will be accepted after the deadline. Applications are
available on the District Website.
Introduction
The Foundation is an
independent non-profit organization established to foster, promote and
support the A.P.W. School System. The Foundation supports the school
district’s mission to ensure that every student is well educated. The
Foundation recognizes that the school district’s operating budget is
limited by available public funding. In order to enhance the
educational opportunities for the students, the Foundation has
established a fund to support teacher initiatives that will benefit and
enhance the educational experience for their students. The grant
program is a competitive process, open to all instructional staff in
grades K-12.
Purpose
Mini-Grants are
awarded for classroom projects/activities that cost-effectively enhance
the educational opportunities for students and enhance the delivery of
curriculum content established by the district. Projects which are
‘hands-on” and encourage active student participation are preferred.
Funding is available for instructional materials, technology/equipment,
school-wide presentations or events, and specialized classroom
activities. All items and materials purchased shall become the property
of the A.P.W. School District.
Funding
The maximum funding
for this offering is $2,500.00 which shall be distributed amongst all of
the projects that are approved for funding.
Process
The completed
application must be mailed to the Foundation at 2885 East Main Street, Parish, NY
13131, postmarked no later than Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Selection
of the projects for funding is at the sole discretion of the Foundation
Board, or its designees. The Foundation reserves the right to reject
any applications which are deemed incomplete or determined to be
contrary to the Foundation’s goals. The funding decision of the
Foundation are deemed final.
Evaluation
Grant recipients
will have until the end of the 2011-2012 school year to complete their
projects. A project evaluation form must be completed at the end of the
project or no later than twelve (12) months from the date of the
funding. Any funds not expended as outlined in the project’s budget
proposal must be returned to the Foundation. If there are any questions
